Shefali Jariwala's father was against her 'Kanta Laga' performance; she received Rs. 7,000 for the song

Team Daily Chronicles: Shefali Jariwala, a renowned actress and former Bigg Boss 13 contestant, passed away at the age of 42 due to a cardiac arrest. Her sudden demise has shocked fans and the entertainment industry alike.

Shefali is best known for her hit song 'Kanta Laga,' which earned her the nickname 'Kanta Laga Girl.'

Early Career and 'Kanta Laga' Breakthrough

Shefali Jariwala's career took off at a young age. When she was around 20 years old, she received an offer to perform in the famous song 'Kanta Laga.' At that time, she was pursuing engineering studies. According to a report by the Times of India, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Saperu spotted her outside her college and approached her with the offer.

Family Concerns and Overcoming Opposition

However, her father was initially opposed to her taking up the song. In an old interview, Shefali Jariwala revealed that her father did not want her to perform in the song because it was quite bold. He believed that it was inappropriate for her to wear revealing clothes, read adult magazines, or go to discotheques.
Shefali shared that her parents wanted her to focus on her studies and stay away from such performances. Ultimately, with her mother's support, she managed to convince her father. She stated, "My father was against it. First, I convinced my mother, and then together we explained to my father."

The Impact of 'Kanta Laga' on Her Life

For her performance, Shefali received just Rs. 7,000. Despite the modest payment, this song changed her life completely. Today, Shefali Jariwala is recognized both nationally and internationally for her talent and bold choices, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire many.
